Boruto and Sarada were first introduced in the Naruto chapter 700, on november 6th, 2014. Back in 2014, after chapter 700, Kishimoto did an interview about Boruto The Movie where he said: "I am currently thinking about a story between Boruto and Sarada". #SixYearsOfBoruSara

Boruto and Sarada first appear together in the Naruto chapter 700. They were in the same academy class and Sarada was always watching and paying attention to Boruto. Even Boruto The Movie Novel says "Sarada's eyes were always watching him..." #SixYearsOfBorusara

Right here Sarada knows her and Boruto have some things in common, she even smirks. She can see herself in him when it comes to dads, because she has observed him. They both had complicated relationships with their dads back then. #SixYearsOfBoruSara
It's been said in novels that Sarada is always watching Boruto, she knows him and she pays attention to him. Even in the manga Sarada say she was worried about him. Chapter 700 was the start of their development and after 6 years we know they really care about each other.
