Everyone feeling huge relief and celebrating today, good! Things are better than they could have been. Acknowledging and appreciating that is vital.
This is also the moment where everything is vulnerable to being permanently lost, because you feel better. So, do me a favor:

Some time later today, or this weekend (BEFORE MONDAY) make a list of the things that upset you over the last four years. Don't go googling. Just write down what comes off the top of your head. All of it. Atrocities. Bureaucratic destruction. Policy failures. Write it down.
Next week, sort it. By what upsets you most, or hits closest to home, or feels easiest to solve. However you want. Then pick the top two.
Just the top two.
That's your mission for the next four years. Those two things. Keep the rest of your list. Save that list forever.
Just the top two.
That's your mission for the next four years. Those two things. Keep the rest of your list. Save that list forever.
Four years from now, you're going to sit down and ask yourself how you did on those two things. Did you organize? Did you make noise? Donate? Did you do everything you could to make sure they weren't forgotten and the pressure to address them was real and significant?
Your list is too long for you to do it all. Four years isn't enough time to fix most things.
But this is how you don't forget. How you don't disappear. How you stave off ever again having a week like this.
Two items is too many. Two items isn't enough.
Focus. Engage. Remember.
