We have listened. We have talked to our racist relatives. We have read 7,342,098 NYT hillbilly safaris. The problem is not that liberals/leftists don't understand. It's that conservatives refuse to acknowledge reality, let alone democratic norms.
I include "being racist AF" under the umbrella of "refusing to acknowledge reality," btw. There's no rational basis for white supremacy, apart from the basest self-interest. Nobody gets to call themselves a good person if they're unwilling to sacrifice those ill-gotten benefits.
Quit trying to contort yourself to match the abusers' whims. Cut them off. Ignore their tantrums. Stop pretending they have anything of value to say. Organize against them. Outvote them. Forget about them.
