The Trump "no concession" story matters in one sense: it points to Trump's plans. The fear is that he illegally manufactures fraudulent slates of electors to send to DC, knowing the GOP has more "delegation votes" than Dems. So watch Rep. McCarthy and former Rep.—now CoS—Meadows.
I'm seeing a lot of people pour cold water on any attempt to have Democrats stay vigilant for Trump's next move. That is an error. Trump will not concede, and there is no bottom to what he will do. So yes, Democrats must at least prepare for unthinkable future Trumpist maneuvers.
Right now, media reports that two of Trump's most powerful House-connected allies—Rep. McCarthy and former Rep. Meadows—are the *chief architects* of the claim that the election should be invalidated.

Trump's prospective coup plot would require complicity from House Republicans.
No one is saying "this will happen." No one is saying "this is OK" or "this is legal." What people are saying is that every signal given by the White House that it will engage in extraordinarily destructive actions in the coming weeks must be heard so that we can remain vigilant.
Those of us concerned about a "dueling elector" plot are *not* hoping that it will come to pass. We're hoping it'll *never* happen. But we also know Trump's history, which suggests no evidence whatsoever that he will do anything but the most destructive, harmful thing to America.
