I feel like I often see people bummed out that people don't interact with their work or they opened commissions and got no commissioners then when I look at their following its like less than 1k
how i see things, only 10% of your following will actually interact with your content. and at Maximum only 1% will give you money for it, and that's only when considering small amounts like a dollar. whole commissions of like $20+ will be the tiniest of percentages
idk if patreon has this tool anymore but they used to have this thing where you type in the number of your following and they'd calculate how much they expect you to earn. they'd only consider 0.5% to 2% of your totally following to become patrons bc that's the reality
so like when artists feel like their art sucks bc they get few interaction and no one offering to commission I just want to shake them and say its a numbers game. it's about how many followers you were lucky enough to get. its 90% luck and don't feel discouraged by your art
