I have a few thoughts here.

First, this is Justice, and it must be done. These people have caused real pain and damage, and that must be addressed.

Second, *how* we meet justice is important. This can't be pure revenge, much as that might feel good.

Specifically.... https://twitter.com/DavidAFrench/status/1324768706711506944
... going beyond what Justice requires leaves scars and only extends the cycle of hatred. Let's not add unnecessarily.

Also, most of these people are flawed sinners just like you and me - their sins are just different in some ways bigger and in some ways smaller. As such...
... we have to try to balance Justice for the victims and mercy for those who caused the harm that are willing to admit they were wrong and want to repent. (For those unrepentant, they seal their fate. I will pity them but they have chosen their path.)
But remember that these people - the repentant ones - are still people who deserve God's Mercy.

Per Matthew 25:34-40, it may be our role to help share that mercy.

At the right time, the right place, of course. And obviously after repentance and justice.

But mwrcy nonetheless.
I am often reminded of stories I heard after Nixon resigned. There were true believers had convinced themselves Nixon had done nothing wrong until confronted with the truth. It was a hard moment for them.
And this is 10 times more than that.
To be clear, I'm not saying everyone needs to do this. There are some people who have been through so much that they can't go down this road. I respect that.

But for those of us who can? We have to try.
