Great point Alex. Restoring humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees is critical especially during COVID19. But the reality is that reverting back to the pre Trump status quo isn’t a solution. Under a Biden presidency we will have to fight even harder for justice in Palestine. https://twitter.com/alexbkane/status/1324743656880939008
Under a Biden presidency we must push even harder for:
1. Halting military aid to Israel
2. Accountability for human rights & international law violations
3. Lifting the blockade on Gaza
4. Decriminalizing BDS & defending Palestinian activists right to free speech in America
Under a Biden presidency we must also move beyond humanitarian aid as a solution for Palestinian refugees. Continued long term displacement is not a solution. Palestinian refugees must be included in justice for Palestinians and their right of return must be addressed seriously.
Throwing money at Palestinians & upgrading the occupation was the Trump plan. Palestinians can’t be bought. Under a Biden presidency we’ll work harder than we ever have to make sure the core issues; occupation, refugees, blockade, sovereignty & our dignity are actually addressed.
Some liberals will think the fight is over once Trump is gone. But it didn’t start at Trump (or Netanyahu) and it wont end with their absence. It ends when we abolish the very foundations of racist settler colonialism that create injustice in America, in Palestine and beyond.
