How to stream when you don’t have time!This thread gives you some tips on both streaming when you don’t have time and other things you can do which will greatly help the comeback on Monday!
1. How do you stream? The truth is, no one knows how YouTube actually decides if a view is fake or not. This is why you may have seen advice on how to stream constantly changing over time.
2. There are many guides that fandoms have put together from trial and error and by observing each other. If you have time to stream the MV continuously please do so. 3. For those of you who can only stream few times a day, you are also important players. Your views are more likely to be counted as organic and less likely to be labelled as a bot
4. First set a personal goal for how many times you will stream. Once an hour? Once every two hours? The number itself is not as important, what’s important is to set a goal and consistently hit that goal every day (and exceed it if you can!). For me it’s 10x a day at least.
5. On that note, make sure you follow this account! Every day we run MV relays. If you see our tweet, you have to watch the MV and then retweet it, so it reaches more Shawols! We will be tweeting every three hours once the MV drops for at least 2 weeks!
6.Another good idea is to associate streaming with another activity. For example, I play the MV on my phone every time I need the toilet (TMI sorry), you could do it every time you have a study break, every time you eat or every time you commute etc.
7. However you chose to stream, do not press replay or constantly refresh the MV. Either watch 3-4 related + unrelated videos in between or space your streaming throughout the day!
8. Get YouTube premium! You can get a 1 month free trial with every account you have. You won’t have ads AND you can download and play the MV offline. The views will be added once you connect online. This allows you to stream on your daily commute etc. https://www.youtube.com/premium
9. Definitely join streaming parties where possible. Even if you can only join for 30 minutes or so. It will be motivating to see shawols working together and watching the views grow faster! I’m planning on holding streaming parties with GA’s, which I will announce soon!
10. To get around YouTube’s potential IP address checker, you could also stream the MV with mobile data (on a separate YouTube account)! However, this isn’t a very sustainable solution unless you have unlimited data.
11. Watch embedded videos in articles! Reading articles will give them views and make journalists more likely to interview Taemin/SHINee in the future. Watching the embedded videos will count as one view (although I don’t recommend replaying the video or refreshing the article).
12. Now for non-streaming tips that help! Share the MV by word of mouth/social media. Having someone watch the video from another IP address is going to add organic views. Sharing on twitter might reach one of your non-shawol moots/multi’s who may check out the MV as well!
13. When the MV drops, you MUST like, comment (don’t spam) and share the MV. This increases 'engagement'. Engagement is more important than views to get a video trending. This is why videos with lower views can trend higher than those with more views. Even dislikes help!
14. Make YouTube ads! You can pay as little or as much as you’d like. It will help increase both views and more people finding out about the comeback.
