So many of the missionaries that wind up here are not interested in confronting anti-Black racism or any form of oppression. For them, oppression is not being able to impose their religion on others or being held accountable for the harm they continue to cause.

How many missionaries have never had a single non-white friend back home, then move to a BlPOC country, only to *exclusively* befriend other white Christians? The people of that country are meant to be their “help” or the *helped*. Employees or projects, never equals.

White saviorism requires an unquestioned, unchallenged power dynamic. Charity is not about equity or justice. It’s about maintaining control under the guise of a desire to change the very conditions your exploitation has caused.
