[thread] 1 of x

I have a set of proposals I'd like to discuss for future election integrity and efficiency. I want input that would help put together a proposal for a pilot program for the state of Texas.

Item 1: The election system moves to a blockchain accounting system. Specifics can be discussed as we go, but we need immutability, security, and a way to map one real, legal person to one real, legal vote.

Item 2: Each person should have a Voter ID. It should be able to attach to an existing license or ID card *or* a state-issued *free* Voter ID used only for that purpose. One ID per eligible voter, serving as the voter account on the election blockchain.

Item 3: The accounts should be automatically pruned to remove dead and intelligible voters, subject to manual auditing and a citizen challenge process to correct improper removals.

Item 4: The blockchain system should be used for all votes, both in-person and approved absentees. The vote transaction ledger should be publicly available like cryptocurrency blockchains -- anonymized, but verifiable by elections officials and the end-users.

Item 5: We should keep this digital, with no mail-in component. Suggestions are very welcome on the logistics front. Early and absentee ballots should be precalculated, and voting should end on election day -- no stragglers.

Welcome suggestions to integrate paper too.

I'll leave the numbering for this thread open for updates. I am serious about making a proposal to the state of Texas for a pilot program, so input is again very welcome.
