If y'all are wondering if DSA is respected as a electoral force at all in the South, you should look at literally any tweet thanking various progressive groups across the South for their on the ground work and take note of who's missing.
I work in the state government with badged access to the capitol. I can overhead conversations from politicians on all sides. The only time I ever hear DSA being brought up is when the Republicans talk about using the group as a scare tactic.
The sad reality is that unless DSA can win a big seat here, no one is going to respect it. All of that work the org does, demands they make and organizing around issues.... all will be and currently are completely ignored by the electeds here.
There *needs* to be a left challenge for the Atlanta city council races next year. I don't see a way for DSA to grow power unless they win some of these seats.
