analyzing the symbolism in itsay, a thread where i dump all my silly gay little thoughts abt itsay and its subtle messages, so i dont lose them :D
dont take anything i say seriously or as facts, as i said this is just my own interpretations of the episodes and #thoughts i had while watching .. im not even an art student

ok so first of all, i believe that each episode represents a stage of their relationship. first episode being ennemies, second episode friends and third episode more than friends but less than a couple.
1. each episode brings them closer and closer, and the way itsay is filmed shows that everytime they have a heart-to-heart conversation, they're closer than the last time.
2. i also think the soundtracks matter a lot more than they seem to! during this scene the drums start playing the moment teh sees ohaew, and the music is in sync with the frames, as it gets louder the moment the camera focuses on ohaew. the music is basically a representation +
+ of how teh feels, and ohaew troubles him in both a good and bad way. another exemple would be when teh paces around in episode 3 while piano starts playing in the back. the tempo speeds up and its a high, kind of stressing, melody, which shows the mess going on inside his head.
3. now lets talk color theory. ohaew's color is red, a warm color, it symbolizes love, passion, longing and lust. teh's color is blue, a cool color, it symbolizes serenity, stability and wisdom. red & blue are conceptually opposite colors and its projected on their personalities.
teh, who's color is blue, is very stable and smart. he's a good student who got into his dream university and has a girl who could potentially become his gf. ohaew looks up to him on this matter. he tell teh he admires him for having his life together and knowing what he wants.
ohaew, who's color is red, seems to be more emotionally driven than teh. he loves and he loves HARD. he seems to always make the first move on the ones he has feelings for and he never struggles coming to terms with his feelings. he's passionate and desires a lot.
during ohaew's love confession, the whole color scheme of the scene is blue as the sun rises. and ohaew ends his confession by putting his red flower inside teh's hand. i think there are multiple meanings behind this scene.
to me, the single RED flower incorporated inside the BLUE frame is a way to show that ohaew has officially a big place inside teh's heart, mind, life. the little red, symbol of passion, love and lust, is troubling the serenity and stability of the blue. this moment is +
+ a turning point for their relationship as teh starts chasing after ohaew multiple times. by incorporating that red flower inside teh's blue life, ohaew has caused pure chaos by bringing himself and emotions teh has never known and dealt with before.
another reason why i chose this interpretation is this moment between teh and tarn. teh draws a barely visible, red circle inside tarn's hand. at this point, teh is starting to develop feelings for his friend and is projecting them on the girl he WANTS to like jut doesn't.
teh's feelings for ohaew went from a small and barely visible circle on someone he was projecting his feelings onto, to a big vibrant flower in the crook of his own hand.
4. the last thing i want to talk about is the lighting in this scene and how it portrays tehohaew's states of mind at that point of the story. ohaew is fully exposed to the sun and is glowing. he's sure of his feelings and has accepted his love for +
teh (he's literally glowing from love). teh on the other hand is still scared, doubting and confused abt his feelings, hence why he's in the dark, hidden by shadows.
ok thats it for today HEBDJFN i wanted to discuss more things but i dont have the time and strength to (im still not over yesterday's episode), so maybe i'll update this thread little by little later anyways yeah itsay world domination itsay best 2020 bl bye
