ln when I ripped bong I went on a tangent about how it’s odd that American culture largely encourages students to “go away” for college, and then a lot of aforementioned students don’t even settle in the cities they studied in.
my conclusion was that in encouraging students to go out on their own it enforces the individualistic nature of capitalism. encouraging folks to leave community/continuously resettle/“follow the money” reduces chances at collectivism
Not to say students/the working class don’t find community wherever they go, because all signs point to the fact that they do (its human nature), I just think it makes a real obstacle and buys the bourgeois a lot of time. But i was high so who knows honestly.
“last night when i ripped bong” what an amazing way to start a theory against capitalism
Ok but to be srs again, Take me for example, international student, unlikely from the jump I’d stay in burly forever. but anywhere i go, especially as an activist/worker/arab (lol) i’d have to start at ground 0 to make community and foster any real change.. really makes u think
