I said this going into the election and it still stands, the changes to made across states to provide more time for voting was a big opportunity for Democrats. Republicans historically better in day turnout, but more time for Dems to vote really was the different.
The historical voter turnout was due to more time not more interest in these candidates.

With that said, more people voicing their opinion with votes is a good thing, not a bad thing.
The other big thing is the growing Latino vote in the United States. It made a huge difference in Florida and will do so elsewhere as time moves forward as it represents a larger percentage of the US Population.
It is up to both Democrats and Republicans to figure this out. As this country continues with a two party system, whichever side is able to best connect with Latinos will dominate politics in this country for the next few decades
