And every time we perform, I put everything I have into it, and Kane always says, "Jake!? Why are you so extra?"

As a musician, I only have to execute on the music. Play the horn lines, and make it sound EXACTLY like it does on the record.

I'm not being asked to share the stage with a verifiable legend, solely because I "get the job done," which I do, but because I understand that when we entertain and transmit this hip hop culture, there can be "no half steppin"....
When I take the stage with Kane, I meet the crowd where this moment meets their memories, and my goal, thru joy, is to make new memorable moments.

Brands & businesses like to think they create cultures, but it's typically a loose affiliation of talented folks that actually give a fuck beyond their station, that make the world go round, with a hefty portion of mediocre in the middle.
So my advice - be "extra" - not for them, but for you.
There are so many mediocre muther fuckers in the world that just a glint of "extra" in your eye, will scare most, and attract the few that are ready to take to the stage, and make some memorable noise.
