2. The Octopus 🐙 length tentacles of the World Economic Forum WEF seem to have spread far and wide into Irish society and especially into our National Broadcaster RTÉ, The Irish Times, Newstalk, Virgin Media & The Independent to name but a few.
3. It is the WEF who are behind The Great Reset which appears on the front page of TIME magazine this week. Many of the advertisers on these Irish web sites above are strategic partners of the WEF. You can verify all by going to the partners section of the WEF site.
4. I had a good dig around the websites and ended up in quite a few 🐇 holes and spent quite a few hours going into the various sections to see who the advertisers are. Maybe it’s all just one big coincidence 😉 You decide

5. RTE => Interestingly RTÉ doesn’t run a huge amount of ads on its site compared to the others. Obviously too busy giving unbiased coverage đŸ€š Here we go => Nespresso - Your favourite coffee brand owned by NestlĂ©.
6. RTE => Samsung - Separated into four business groups – Samsung Group, Shinsegae Group, CJ Group and Hansol Group. CJ is a global lifestyle company also in the WEF. Audi - Owned by Volkswagen. Vorsprung Durch Technik = “Being Ahead Through Technology”. Indeed..
7. RTE => Irish life - Owned by Great-West Life from Canada who are owned by the Power Corporation of Canada who acquired a 10% stake in CITIC Securities from China.
8. RTE => I’m sure you’ve guessed where this heading. If you guessed CITIC securities are in the WEF buy yourself a Carlsberg đŸș or a Nespresso ☕ as Carlsberg are also in the gang as you’ll soon find out !!
9. RTE => Ireland’s favourite chat show “The Late Late” hosted by the one and only impartial Ryan Tubridy aka Tubs is sponsored by Renault. The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance is connected to the Mitsubishi Corporation.
10. RTE => And I quote from the RTE site “RTE Media Sales are delighted to announce Opel Ireland as sponsor of RTE Radio 1's brand new show Today with Claire Byrne. Sep 6, 2020. That’s only 6 weeks ago as well. Funny that.
11. RTE => Now this is interesting. Opel are owned by Groupe PSA which comprises of an equal 13.68% ownership each by the French state, Peugeot Family and Dongfeng Motor Group (DMG). You will never believe where DMG are located. Drum Roll đŸ„đŸ„đŸ„
12. RTE => Wuhan. Yes, you read that right. DMG are based in Wuhan. Just trying to remember where I’ve come across that name before 😉 To be fair I didn’t find them on the WEF site but I thought it would be interesting to include 😀
13. The Irish Times => Amazon’s latest movie Borat 2 with the slogan “Wear Mask Save Live”. Trying to push more people to buying and consuming online in time of lockdown. Have made a fortune since March and continue to do so. A WEF partner.
14. The Irish Times => Fitbit, owned by Google. Audi - Owned by Volkswagen. Clickup. com - In a strategic partnership with Google. Accenture - Global professional services company. Dentsu Aegis Network - A multinational media & digital marketing communications company.
15. The Irish Times => Zurich - Global insurance company. PWC - Audit, Tax and Advisory services. AIG - Car, home & travel insurance. Huawei - Leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT).
16. The Irish Times => BearingPoint - Previously owned by KPMG. Eirgrid - Owned by the Irish govt and very much pushing the green & climate change agenda. Eir - Part owned by Anchorage Capital Group
17. Newstalk => Hewlett Packard - High end storage platform & cloud. Toyota - Japanese car company. Shopify - Amazon’s preferred migration partner. Google Store - Say no more :-) Virgin Media - A subsidiary of Liberty Global. Axa - Insurance & Financial Services.
18. Newstalk => Nissan - In alliance with Mitsubishi Corporation and sponsor of The Hard Shoulder. OrCAD PCB Software - Owned by Cadence Design whose CEO is Lip-Bu Tan who is a board director of Hewlett Packard, Schneider Electric & Softbank (all partners of WEF)
19. Newstalk => This one is my personal favourite - Carlsberg đŸș - As the ad has said for many years “Probably the best beer in the world” Not any more you’re not đŸ€„ - Owned by The Carlsberg group. I actually prefer a pint of stout myself. Pint of Arthur Guinness please.
20. Virgin Media => Virgin Media are too busy trying to sell their own products to run ads but are owned by Liberty Global an enormous multinational telecommunications company with assets of $49 billion and equity of $13.6 billion.
21. Independent => Jaguar – Owned by Tata motors, a huge Indian company. I went to their site and their lead story is “The Digital Gene” Embedding digital in the Tata DNA. AIB & An Post – Both owned by the Irish Govt.
22. Independent => Astellas is a member of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. Opel – See above. Yoplait – Everyone’s favourite Yogurt is owned by General Mills who are in partnership with Nestle with 17 factories worldwide in 130 countries. Innocent Smoothies – Owned by Coke
23. So there you have it, a shallow dive into the world of Irish Media and their advertising partners from the WEF. This is by no means comprehensive at all and I’m sure there are loads of companies I missed. It is very much the tip of the iceberg.
24. If you found this thread useful I would be only too happy to dive into 🇬🇧 media next. I just have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of the same partners in crime will make an appearance. So if any guys or gals from the UK would like me to do that please just comment below.
25. It would be a far bigger task and I would probably have to break it down into multiple Tweet threads as the UK is way bigger than Ireland. There are far more TV channels and papers than in Ireland. I’d hope to get started on it later this week.
