I think it’s understandable that people like Spanberger resent the fact that AOC and Ilhan Omar look so large in the national Democratic “brand” but the way for more moderate members to be better known nationally is to ... try to become better known nationally.

There was a good Niskanen report about this last year calling on moderates to play the factional institution-building and organizing game and not just whine and dream of anti-party politics. People should listen. https://www.niskanencenter.org/the-future-is-faction/

Ironically this is something we’ve gone full circle on. Moderates used to have real infrastructure in DLC/PPI and progressive members mostly whined. Now it’s Justice Dems and the Squad vs whiners.

But organizing and institution-building has no specific ideology.
