At the beginning Jungkook didn’t have his own studio, like some of the older members in BTS. But he wanted to participate in the creation and production of music.

This clip from 2015 show him creating a beat on his tablet.
The exact date is unknown, but probably sometime in 2015 Jungkook set up his own recording and work space in his room, in the dorm BTS lived in.

Thus, the Golden Closet Studio came to be.
The first time the Golden Closet appeared in the credits was 2015-10-03, when he uploaded his cover of ‘Lost Stars’ by Adam Levine.
Most of the subsequent covers by Jungkook credit the Golden Closet for the Vocal Arrangements.

In April 2015, his first produced song, Outro: Love Is Not Over, a soulful RnB song, was released on The Most Beautiful Moments in Life (Pt. 1). The full version of the song was released in the compilation album.

He went on producing Magic Shop included in LYS: Tear.
According to Jhope, Jungkook also acts as de facto (but uncredited) producer for Jamais Vue. And considering this, it's not far fetched to assume that he potentially acted as an uncredited de facto producer for other songs as well.
Jungkook also participated in song-writing and in composing of several other BTS songs over the years.

He has song writing credits for 16 songs so far
Over the years, Jungkook has been acquiring the skills and tools to song-writing, composing and production.

In Jungkook’s self-written profile for Festa 2016, he said that installing a program to create music, was one of the things he was most proud of recently.
In the Wings Concept Book, JK talked about how he kept telling the company he wanted to learn piano to help him compose and how he started working with the MIDI (Musical Instrumental Digital Interface). And he spoke about the importance of all members participating in songwriting
In a vlog in December 2016, Jungkook spoke about how he bought an expensive VSTI so that he can properly compose and produce. But also that he lacked confidence. Nevertheless, he was going to tackle it head-on.
In January 2017, Jungkook mentioned he wanted to make beats. In May 2017, Pdogg mentioned in an interview how JK knows how to make beats. And in November 2017, Jhope said during a VLive that JK was making beats these days, and they were really good.

This was confirmed in an interview with ETOnline in November.
On November 8, 2017 Jungkook released his first G.C.F. (Golden Closet Film). The film was a short film using video footage he shot during his trip to Tokyo with Jimin.

The response was very positive, not only from fans, but the company CEO tweeted “Pure talent in blood. What did I say, JK?” and Lumpens, the directors of many BTS MVs, said from now on Jungkook should film his own parts in the MV.
Jungkook subsequently released more G.C.F., short films starring BTS members in different locations around the world.

This shows how much of what Jungkook has learned is self-taught.
