If Palestine belongs to the Muslims, why are we having to beg international coalitions for help as they laugh at us? Why are we creating petitions for help? These don’t sound like the actions of an owner. Palestine wasn’t stolen from us, we lost it.

When someone steals something that belongs to you, it is your right to have it returned to you by authorities. When you lose something, it’s nobody’s responsibility but your own to go and reclaim your lost possession.

Throughout history, land ownership has constantly changed. The strong always conquer the weak. It’s true that we’re in the era of the nation state, but the purpose for the creation of the nation state was exactly this- to fool people into thinking that the era of empires is over.

Empires still exist in the form of ideologies. It is true that Israel’s occupation is against international law. But the international coalitions that enforce these laws were created by the same empires that created israel. Why would they help?

This is what Muslims need to understand. Forget everything and understand one thing- Might is right. Our job is not to self pity or sit with an entitlement complex that Palestine belongs to Muslims and will be returned to us.

Our job is to understand the mechanisms that allowed these present-day empires to prosper and then replicate them. Obtain the might for ourselves and then go and repossess what we lost. Land belongs to Allah. Its ownership belongs to whoever is strong enough to take it.

If Islamic scripture tell us that Palestine will one day be Islamic, that doesn’t mean we will wake up one day & suddenly have control over it. This is ridiculous. It means it will be Islamic the day that a generation of Muslims wake up & realize they must work hard to obtain it.

Yesterday we were strong, so we expanded into their territory. Today they are strong, so they have expanded into our territory. Let’s make sure tomorrow belongs to us by ridding ourselves of this mentality of entitlement. Our Palestinian brothers are waiting for us.

وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ

And that each person will only have what they endeavoured towards.

Some people have told me that it is wrong to say Palestine belongs to Jews, as belonging does not mean physical possession. Sure, but this is another shallow point to grab for self assurance. For all practical purposes, belonging does mean physical possession. We want both.
