I was up crazy early this morning to get to the hospital on time for my 2nd #Covid #vaccine (21 day booster!)

Then a full body MOT similar to last time - blood pressure, O2 sats, pulse etc. Check of the eyes, ears, throat, abdomen, lymph nodes etc etc....

A member of the unblinded team gave me my vaccine (& sticker!) @ 9:06
Unblinded means they know which vaccine I'm getting - either @Novavax #Covid vaccine or a saline placebo
Most of the team are blinded (don't know) as not to cause any bias in the results

Vaccine went in my left arm this time (right arm last time)
I asked why this was the case
Apparently all participants in this trial get the first vaccine in the R and 21day booster in the L to keep it consistent

Then taken to the observation room (to be checked on for a while after vaccine)
After 15 mins I got checked - vaccine site on my arm looks normal
Then more observations done (BP, O2, pulse, temperature) all normal!
Just 15 mins left on the timer then good to go!

Had my last check by the health care assistant: "nice and boring that's what we like to see"
Then a short 300m walk to work!
Treated my self to a fancy coffee as well

My next visit will be in 3 weeks time for blood tests and a check up!

I'm pretty sure I have the real vaccine (instead of placebo) due to the intense immune response by body demonstrated Friday evening

Once home from work, I became very tired, headachy, my arm got more sore, so I had an early night
Once in bed, I got shivers, felt really cold, but kept waking up feeling really hot.
These are all standard immune response symptoms that are common after vaccination

So why did I get these for my booster vaccine but not the first one?
If our bodies developed immunity from the first infection, the response to the second infection swift!

Of course, I could still have had the placebo & these could have all been down to the placebo effect.
But if that's the case, I expect my body will win big at next year's Oscars

Just because I think I have the real vaccine, I'm not going to change my behaviour - still doing #SocialDistancing, #WearAMask 
& limit my contact with others.
But I am going to have a lazy weekend taking it easy.
