Donald Trump is going to lose this election. His presidency will end at 12:00 noon on January 20th, 2021. Whatever political threat Republicans believe Trump posed to them over the past 4 years has vaporized and no longer exists.

The say nothing about his pummeling of our collective confidence in the soundness of our democratic institutions.

Donald Trump has lost all the leverage he may have had over them. He has no political capital left in his coffers with which he could attack them. He is no longer a threat to them in any credible way whatsoever.

They say nothing because they hate democracy just as much as Donald Trump does.
They say nothing because they are craven, corrupt, morally bankrupt cowards.

It is no longer possible to give them any benefit of the doubt that they are merely acting based on a political calculation in which the most important variable is staying in Trump's good graces in an act of self-preservation or to manipulate him into doing their bidding.
Donald Trump is powerless. He has no political capital left to spend. He has no more leverage. He's the lamest of lame ducks.
