What is a President's true role? And what is the citizen's true role?

The way much of the world divorces itself from faith in a higher power has set up this dynamic of making a president responsible for things that only a God or a God as Man could live up to.

We expect our President to be a perfect representation of the ideal, but haven't yet lived up to that ourselves

We expect a President to be able to make transformational change, even change we ourselves are not fully committed to or don't embody in our own lives

We expect a President to fix the things we see are wrong, but we ourselves have not even considered how and what we can do to fix it in our own lives

And we expect a President to make everything better for us rather than doing the hard work in our own lives to make things better

If a President is not a savior, what *is* their role?

If we become strong, more ethical, responsible, conscious, compassionate humans that value and care for one another, if we ourselves live up to what we want a President to be in our own lives, what role then do they have?
