Gonna be honest with you - I try to put on a happy face for y’all. But my heart legitimately breaks when I think of the promise of what this nation could be, really what our existence as loving humans could be, and how we constantly fuck it up over the most idiotic and petty shit
GO AND BE HAPPY. That should literally be it. Anything that gets in the way of that for you or for someone else, get rid of it. Or let’s fix it. But we have to always choose tribes and sides no matter how arbitrary and fucking stupid and artificial the division is
When people have each other’s backs, have respect for each other, there’s nothing they can’t accomplish. But we have been so broken down along demographic lines because it’s easier for politicians and advertisers that we are at each other’s throats over shit like movie franchises
I don’t see a way out of this. Not with a media and tech class that gets off in this division, with a political class that benefits from it, with an entertainment complex that thinks it’s purpose is to convert, not to reflect the human condition
Imma keep doing my thing and say my piece and be a happy warrior. Be a light in dark times as we all should be. It’s just hard sometimes when you think it doesn’t seem to matter. That’s all.
