Alright, let’s talk about this “surprised it wasn’t a landslide” idea: Sweet Jesus, this IS a landslide. It took absolutely EVERYTHING we had. We are beating a system designed to not be beaten. Militias, voter suppression, gerrymandering, the racist Electoral College…
There are millions of heroes out there who worked their asses off to get voters to the polls. They called. They texted. They knocked on doors. They registered people who’d sworn they’d never vote. And they turned that vote out.
The campaign staff kicked a lot of ass too. There was zero drama to speak of from the Biden camp. They understood the moment and they did what they needed to do. My hat’s off to them.
We got zero fucking help from the asshats at Twitter, YouTube, or Facebook you were too busy counting ad spend money to do jack shit about the lies on their platform. How many people spent time on the phone with their mom, dad, or uncle disabusing them of the lies?
Stacey Abrams mobilized Georgia! Georgia! Who thought Georgia was in play?! Stacey Abrams did. That woman and her team worked a miracle down there. And holy shit, Pennsylvania? That’s where I’m from. PA is batshit. It’s unfuckingpredictable.
A lotta people moved a lot of fucking land in this election, and they did it in the face of some very real opposition. From gerrymandering to voter suppression to actual guns pointed at their heads. Fucking heroes all. It took a landslide to get here.
The odds were SO STACKED against us! Millions of people made this happen. From young people casting their first votes, to old people counting votes while white supremacists banged on the voting center windows. It took all we had. It took a landslide.
