. @jkenney's UCP Bill 47, now before #ableg, contains proposed changes to WCB that are extremely concerning.
It appears injured #Alberta workers will receive less compensation & benefits, and experience more hardship navigating the system.

There are a host of new caps and benefit reductions that will mean #Alberta workers on WCB will get LESS. For example the UCP are capping maximum insurable earnings.
This means if an #Alberta worker who earns a high income in a dangerous job, not uncommon in our oil & gas industry, is injured, they will receive less compensation than they are entitled to today.
The UCP is also removing presumptive coverage for psychological injuries where workers experienced a traumatic event, limiting it to only a select few occupations. Traumatic events that cause psychological injuries are possible in any occupation.
When our worker's compensation system fails workers, it ruins lives. We in the Alberta NDP Official Opposition will fight Bill 47 on behalf of all #Alberta workers.
