Let’s get to the root of something, shall we?
Human beings are not inherently violent.
Human beings are not born with a nastiness that needs to be controlled or suppressed.
There is no original sin.

Everything you think you know about violence in social animals, including and especially humans, is wrong.
Social animals do NOT have an innate tendency towards intra-species violence, because that’s not fucking social.
Social animals do NOT have an innate tendency towards intra-species violence, because that’s not fucking social.
Social animals, including humans, only ever become truly violent towards one another when: 1) resources are scarce (in the case of humans, that scarcity is artificial) and 2) when they are thrown into close quarters with one another without established communal connections.
The idea that there are people who, even without the stress and trauma that comes with lack of resources and connection, would always be inherently bad and violent is a fiction developed by the State to scare us into believing in its necessity.
We would NOT be the successful species that we are if we were inherently violent and cruel to one another. This violence now is the result of cycles of trauma that began long ago. It is our duty to end it, and we CAN because it is not an actual feature of human relations.
