For @GregRenoff and the Van Halen guitar nerds - the earliest Kramer superstrats (that were the first guitars EVH endorsed) were Kramer Pacers from 1982, they had the Rockinger trem (which kinda sucked) and then Floyd Rose got hooked up. These “strathead” Pacers are rare 😎🎸🤣
Mine was a late 81/early 82 Pacer and it originally had the Rockinger, but the music store shipped it back to Kramer and got it “floyded” and I had the first Floyd shipped to Florida. Played that guitar for years in the 80s, and loved that Floyd Rose 🌹 @FU_Tone 😎
Kramer had Floyd Rose so locked down, no other guitar builder could buy them OEM. If you wanted a Jackson or Charvel with a Floyd, you had to BUY ONE, then the music store would mail it to Jackson with your order. That’s why so many cool guitars came with Kahlers 🤮
Later in the 80s after I had retired the 81 Pacer, I got another early Pacer Imperial and kinda did my own thing to it. The great Bill Edwards built me a neck, and he put his “Finger-Tite Locking Nut” on it. That entire saga is such a crazy story about his deal with Kramer 😳
