Okay, played through a couple of #NHL21 Franchise Mode seasons since the patch. Few notes:

- Trade values are *better*, but inconsistent (meh)
- Less overall trades during the year (really didn't have many), which is good
- Trade Deadline had a lot of big players moving
(Also L2/R2 is funky and doesn't always flip to the next player in the column you've sorted by, but can't fully reproduce it yet so)
Re: Trade Values being inconsistent:

- Forward trade values are weird for 82-84 OVR players. Kovalchuk (83 OVR, 1 yr, 1.9M; 36 points in 54 GP) has less trade value than Roussel (79 OVR), who has more money on more term with 0 GP
Another weird one is the discrepancy between Boeser and Miller, who are having almost identical seasons yet Miller has a noticeably higher trade value despite Boeser having more potential and room to grow (also note Schmidt for a few posts below)
Another good example is Tom Wilson, who's got 26 points in 60 GP being really low... and Justin Schultz who has 40 points in 60 GP being a significantly higher trade value than Orlov who is doing fine (30 points in 60 GP) which leads to the next point...
Trade values for defenders is way too high in general if they're having a good year. See: Shattenkirk (same totals as Schultz) and Manson.
Another inconsistent forward example is Nino Niederreiter having lower trade value than Jordan Staal. It looks like +/- might be having a pretty bug effect here, but there's no way that, given their stats and contracts, Nino should be lower here.
Okay, just going through all the teams at this point and there are some weird ones on Colorado (Fog of War is off btw):

Bellemare vs. Donskoi vs. Burakovsky (59 GP, 10 G, 16 A, +2, 9:40 ATOI) vs. Nichushkin
Yeah, they're all over the place. Look at Koivu compared to Bellemare and Donskoi lol
This turned into more of a thread than what I was anticipating as I was going team by team. Look at Kahun's insane trade value compared to other players in the thread
Lol Yandle (43 points in 57 GP) and Nutivaara (28 points in 57 GP).. Stralman has 22 in 57 btw.
Hoffman has 21 G, 25 A, but is a -7. Reference him to Bellemare/Donskoi
Okay, yeah, final conclusion is that some players are better trade value wise, but others are the same or worse and it's so inconsistent between players that it's honestly somehow a worse experience.
