Let’s get some things straight. Most Latinos in Florida and most Latinos in Miami- Dade voted for Biden. (A thread)...
The idea Latinos and Black people underperformed for Biden is largely false.
23 million more voters in 2020 nationally over 2016 and 8 million of them were Latino.
2 million more Black people voted than 2016
White voters dropped from 71 to 65% of the electorate with only 2.7m more voters but voted for Trump in much higher numbers.
In Florida 59% of white women and 64% of white men went for Trump, higher than 2016. The vast majority of Black voters and majority of Latinx went for Biden
We’ve always known Miami is home to conservative Hispanics. BUT even if Biden had met Clinton levels in Miami Dade we still would have lost the state... badly...
Republicans in Florida turned out 5 percentage points higher than Democrats. Republicans invested massively and EARLY in Florida
Florida for All had 800 canvassers and people making millions of calls on the independent side, and we showed out!
Im many ways this election was a referendum on racial divides and it is clear we still have much work to do to build a new majority coalition for a country where all of us belong. We know we have work to do.
PS thank a Black or Latinx organizer and state power organization for winning AZ, WI, MI, NV and kicking 45 out
