We just released a new poll of Catholics nationwide to learn about how they’re thinking about politics, faith, healthcare and equality. The results underscore what we already knew: Catholics support access to abortion and aren’t falling for the bishop’s attacks. <1/8>
When it comes to our votes, media coverage tends to focus on anti-choice activists. But when Catholics consider abortion, by a 20 point margin they want

By an even wider margin, Catholics reject efforts by clergy to withhold communion from politicians who support abortion rights. <3/8>
When it comes to issues the bishops have attempted to redefine as “religious liberty,” Catholics aren’t buying it. They don’t want religious employers to deny workers birth control coverage. <4/8>
Catholics REALLY don’t want to discriminate against LGBTQ people.

Catholics don’t want to stop gay or lesbian couples from adopting. Or to allow Catholic hospitals to refuse access to certain medical procedures. <6/8>
In short: the bishops have spent years and millions of dollars pushing Catholics to ignore their own consciences and follow an extreme, partisan agenda.
