Racism is one of many means by which capitalism perpetuates and protects itself. The two are inextricably linked, 100%, but our focus and ire should be aimed towards what economic policies and market practices have *lead* to and *maintain* intra-class differences between races.
The core of racism focuses on projecting value judgements in regards to character and biological traits *in relation to class.* "Good" and "bad" qualities are most often tied to a person's ability to provide for themselves or contribute to society as a whole
Racism, then, should be seen as an active exercise in projection: it tries to enforce a generalized class stereotype on to people regardless of their circumstances or opinions. As a consequence white privilege can then be understood as leniency in the face of or outright
exclusion from this systemic and institutional projection. Even still, we need to remember that whiteness in of itself is still a social construct, and that the only reason "white supremacy" exists is because our system was designed around whiteness, thanks to the relation
between whites and the means of production and capital. However, we still need to avoid class reductionism by understanding how identity has shaped the relationship between people and capital and how access to capital has shaped people's identities.
