I would just like to expand upon this a little further. This table is from the UCP's 2020-23 Fiscal Plan. They're forecasting ~$22B in tax revenue in 2021, about 55% of which is personal income tax. A FURTHER ~10% is School Property Tax, also paid by individuals...(1/x) https://twitter.com/HangryMale/status/1324396426680442880
ALL corporate income taxes contribute a further ~10%, but note that Alberta receives more revenue from the school property tax than it does from ALL corporate income tax. So who's funding this government? Well, you are. (2/x)
You might say, well WHAT ABOUT RESOURCE ROYALTIES? Let's see. They're forecasting less than $5B in royalty revenue in 2021 - a third of the combined personal income and school property taxes.

Resource extraction is a BIT PLAYER in AB gov't revenue. (3/x)
IN FACT. Alberta receives THREE TIMES more revenue from the federal government (in the form of transfer payments) than it does from resource royalties.

Where do the monies for these federal transfer payments come from? Your personal FEDERAL income tax. (4/x)
So, of the Government of Alberta's $50B annual budget, resource royalties and corporate taxes contribute about $7B, or 15% of overall revenue. The lion's share comes from you, Albertan, and the Federal Government (which is also you). (5/x)
SO. Clearly the public purse DWARFS the private sector when it comes to funding gov't services. This is why the @UCPCaucus is intent on privatizing government services: there's a MASSIVE amount of money available, just waiting to be funneled into corporate bank accts. (6/x)
And, as I've said before, the whole reason the UCP (and any other "conservative" party) exists is to funnel public dollars into private hands. THE END.
