States like Nevada have a megaton of mail in ballots.
Though they have counted all the ballots received BEFORE Election Day, they’re still counting the ones received ON Election Day.

AND, Nevada’s rule is that ANY ballot postmarked Nov 3 and received by Nov 10 is valid and MUST be counted.
And I think this is a really good idea.

Why?
Well, Nevada has this rule because it’s a huge fucking state, with some really remote corners that take mail a long time to get mail to and from (some of those being First Nations reservations that are wayyy out in the sticks).

Today is only the 5th.
Since it’s only the 5th, Nevada officials are (very wisely) being extra cautious. Biden’s lead there is only about 7,000 votes.

However, many of the counties which they’re waiting on the mail to come from are Blue, and the majority of the people who vote by mail are Democrats (because they believe the coronavirus is fucking real)
So Biden is expected to pull ahead of Trump as more ballots arrive.

The other slowdown is that... it’s a pandemic.
All states are hit by this.
Everything’s gotta be fucking disinfected every so often depending on rules and regulations l, since all these workers are handling and opening all these ballots by hand.

There are efforts underway on Twitter to get pizza to ballot counters, which I think is awesome.
