In order for an autistic child’s needs to be met in education they have to be seen to be failing significantly, often causing long lasting damage & trauma.
It takes for a child to be burnt out, school “refusing” and/or at the brink of suicide.

The “evidence” has to be visible to people other than the parents. Parents expert views of their child’s distress are often not believed and/or not validated. With a parent seen to be overly anxious

Even when everyone agrees the child needs support it takes months of referrals, assessments & battles to get what is needed and very often what is truly needed is beyond the resources available.
