In hindsight, Donald Trump might realize that, while it's not necessary to suck up to people & institutions which may help you, it is vital not to antagonize them.

Throughout his tenure, he knowingly and willingly threw a fit at even Fox News, McCain family (Arizona native) etc.
He could learn that from Modi. The man has remarkable patience and maturity, and can absorb repeated setbacks and obstacles even from within his own party. And, when he won 2014 bigly, he still gave crucial ministerial berths to party seniors who had opposed his candidature.
Imagine Modi behaving with RSS like how Trump behaves with people who slight him a little bit. RSS organizational machinery was key to 2014 and, crucially, 2019.

Modi's teamwork is second to none. Ironically, many "intellectuals" alleged he isn't a team player.
