Here’s my conspiracy about the 2020 election and i have nothing to base this on, but it sure is fun to think about:
the Republican establishment is in on this.
And it all started back in 2015...

Trump came on the scene and gets a lot of attention for how polarizing he was to the whole country. But i think he was a real embarrassment to the Republican Party.
He was not the traditional way of doing things, and he certainly didn’t have the political experience.

I’m not talking about the regular Republican voter or your local Republican City Council Member or mayor.
I’m talking about those rich Republicans who donate to superPacs and who own Congressmen or Senators.
THOSE Republicans, or better yet...the old guard.

They were EMBARRASSED when Trump arrived.
Think of who was on the stage in those early primaries: Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, and the golden child, JEB BUSH.
All these career politicians expected to be the next face of the party and BAM
TRUMP.

Trump comes in and immediately ignited a fire under everyone and within weeks had a loud, rambunctious and very effective base.
Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio wouldn’t even take this guy seriously until he was polling past them.
They didn’t even know what hit them.

Before you know it, a BUNCH of “traditional” Republicans had Trump fever.
And the establishment wasn’t happy. Their opposition was Hillary and even she didn’t take Trump seriously.
The only thing they could do was ride that “Red Wave,” kicking and screaming to the election.

And they had to because they had to win the 2020 election.
After 8 years of Obama, a Clinton presidency would have been catastrophic to the party.
Trump was their best shot.

Trump was their best shot.
And wouldn’t you know it, it worked. Enough people got behind Trumps agenda of tearing down political correctness and rebuilding American pride, and it happened fast enough against Hillary, that Trump won and shocked everyone.
But i don’t think the Republican establishment ever liked it.
They took the W, but it’s not how they wanted it.
Trump is a bull in a China cabinet and he’s just wrecking everything in his path.
So what do they do?

They ride it out. For four years, they’ve all pretended to vouch for him and let him do all the things they wanted to do tactfully over time but in an abrasive way in record timing (Jerusalem, SCOTUS, Tax plan, etc).
They’ve let him be as chaotic as he wants, reaping his success

But secretly they hate Trump more than the left hates him.
It’s like when a new hot shot GM comes in and starts selling draft picks, but is also competing for titles.
You like the wins, but worry about the future

And now we find ourselves in the middle of a coup and the Republicans establishment are involved.
Sure, there’s other players. Sure, there’s other corruption. But it seems incredibly convenient for Rs and they are all QUIET right now.

See, they can afford to lose Trump.
Rs control the Senate and gained (+5) on the House.
Biden won’t be able to do much with those layers of protections. Even when Harris replaces Biden, she’ll only be able to get so much done with executive orders.

The Rs are safe, for now.
They let Trump go down in flames in this election and Rs know their base will point the finger at everyone else.
They know we will blame the Dems, the Media, Antifa, BLM, and our fellow neighbor. Anyone but them.

Why else has it been steady and calm from anyone other than the Trump campaign on this?
Lindsey Graham ain’t saying nothing
Marco Rubio is dancing around the issue.
Cocaine Mitch is crickets. Cruz isn’t really taking a hard stance.
All while Trump fights w/ $ and lawyers

This allows 4 safe years under Biden until the Rs can retool and regroup and then send out a “normal” candidate in 2024. A Nikki Haley or a Dan Crenshaw (this is not an endorsement for either, just an example) type can restore order in the party.
The Rs have benefited from Trump tremendously but they are also seeing the 2020 election as a means to an end.
The reality is, if Trump is re-elected in 2020, Rs won’t win in 2024 or prob 2028. They’ve got to reset the deck.

In a weird way, it looks like Rs, are searching for power in 2024-2032, rather than 2016-2024.
Bigger moves to come down the road in tech, energy and foreign policy and they don’t need it as much in the 20-24 years.

What’s happening in this election is sad. We have a lot of misinformation all around and we have a bunch of shady business going on.
I think it’s a glorified conspiracy (i love using that word) to get Trump out and refocus the base.

If Trump were smart, he’d bow out of this election and take the L.
Then he’d run as an independent in 2024 and for the first time, a 3rd party candidate would win. Then he can truly tear it all down
And he’d win. His base would go with him.

And if you’re smart, you’ll ignore this and chalk it up to me having too much time on my hands.
