White people in Denmark vote for higher wages

White people in Sweden vote for universal healthcare

White people in Norway vote for rehabilitation-centric prisons

Whiteness. Is. Not. The. Problem.
Even in racially diverse European countries like France, Germany, Italy and the UK, public opinion and voting on everything from welfare provision to wars to criminal justice is less conservative than in the US.
"Whiteness" makes it seem like something inhering in the hearts and minds of white people makes them vote the way they do. It subtracts all external forces--history, politics, media--that have actively constructed racialized social behavior and electoral habits in the US
This thread is critical of analysis that centers "whiteness", as if there is something purely to do with the color of your skin that makes you bad or good. It is not a rejection of racism which is very very real and I should know. Please don't wilfully distort what I'm saying
Lots of you saying 'whiteness" is not just literally whiteness, it's the systems that willfully antagonize, segregate and manipulate populations into voting against their best interests for the sake of the tribe. Okay. In that case...
...why call it whiteness and not systemic racism? Why choose a phase that makes people, not systems, seem evil and mean and bad? And why does the system antagonize, segregate and manipulate anyway? If your answer isn't related to wealth, accumulation and power, you're wrong
