what i HAVE noticed is that people on the right have a very flimsy understanding of what people on the left think, and no real awareness of the diversity of opinions that exist over here. they tend to assume we all uncritically love every democratic politician lmao

i used to reblog those fawning tumblr posts about Barack Obama and Joe Biden. i am not like that anymore because i became more informed about their long lists of misdeeds. i change my opinions based on new information. a wild idea, i know
i guess the thing is, when you are consistently ingenuous and don't care if you're a hypocrite and your entire ideology boils down to selfishness, you can't imagine people having actual opinions more thoroughly considered than your own
