I see a lot of ppl say “the education system has failed us” but I don’t really agree. Cuz even if you had the most basic education and took it seriously; there wouldnt be so many low readers

A lot of ppl are not willing to acknowledge that they didn’t take K-12 seriously and that their parents allowed them not to

I had students go to college and say they weren’t taught something. But Im like “actually you were taught u just didn’t care to learn it “

And please don’t start with your exceptions. The point is that most of time education isn’t reinforced in your homes & there almost nothing u can do with that

Pointing to outdated books in the age of technology is a moot point. Y’all have cell phones at 8. Your parents can provide you with stuff to read. The point is that the education system begins with your household

Ppl wants schools to raise their kids & that’s just not the case

The parents set the tone of they type of student that you will be

So many students think they have to like a subject to learn about it.

That’s just not how things work
