Let’s be clear. Even with a sour grapes lame duck, it would still be Loffler’s and Perdue’s runoff to lose with a bullet.

Come with me through a brief history lesson 📖 https://twitter.com/isaacdovere/status/1324363014276087808
Runoffs are a time-honored tradition in GA. (see: obsolete holdover from pre-party flip America when Democrats dominated the South) The only thing you need to trigger the potential for one in *any non-prez contest held in the state, yes even dog catcher* is 2 or more candidates.
. @ReverendWarnock’s already slated runoff on 1/5/21 will be the third U.S. Senate general runoff in recent history. Should @ossoff also keep holding the line, his will be held on the same day.
As intended, these runoffs are designed to power-protect the (now Republican) majority. They are held on electorally insignificant days during/directly after the holidays while voters are still burned out from the previous cycle. Turnout compared to OG election is usually <60%.
All that to say it’s been really effective for trouncing Dems, and as someone that has lived in and worked on campaigns in the state, it’s in my top 3 reasons why I think GA has a while before it’s reliably blue.
In 1992, incumbent Sen. Wyche Fowler (D) beat challenger Paul Coverdell (R) 49.23% to 47.67%...only to lose his seat in the runoff 49.35% to 50.65%.

08’s Sen runoff only prolonged the inevitable. Jim Martin’s (D) deficit against Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R) grew from 3 to 15 points
I don’t say all this to be a downer. Understanding the turf is critical to know what we’re up against. The way it’s looking, Ossoff and Warnock could be the key to a slim Senate majority (with Kamala as a tie break).
The GOP won’t be pulling a single punch to prevent that. And neither should we. If you have the resources to be on the ground to volunteer, you should go. If you don’t, sign up to phone bank, donate whatever you can.

What we do in the next 2months+ is mission critical.
