5 working from home tips for this lockdown:

1) Work from home, don't live at work.

It's tempting to work from the sofa, but when you sit down and try to unwind in the evening, you'll feel like you're still in the office.

Keep work separate. You need a safe space to switch off.
2) Don't snooze that alarm.

Research shows that oversleeping can reduce cognitive ability in the same way as sleep deprivation. Resist the urge to roll out of bed 5 minutes before you start work.

Use your usual commute time to do something that makes you truly happy.
3) Stay connected.

Sometimes, an email exchange might be your only form of human contact for the day.

We're missing in-person interactions that are so important for our mood and sense of belonging.

Call your friend on your lunch break. FaceTime your family. Keep in touch.
4) Use the "it's ok" mantra:

I'm behind on my work, it's ok.
My house is a mess, it's ok.
The dishes are piling up, it's ok.
I can't concentrate, it's ok.
I'm feeling anxious, it's ok.

Go easy on yourself.
5) Protect your diary.

You wouldn’t book 8 meetings back to back in a normal working day.

You wouldn't arrange to see 3 different groups of friends in one night either.

So don't try and do that now, just because it's easier to arrange through a screen.

You'll be exhausted.
