A modest proposal...
So, let’s say your candidate for President doesn’t win. Here are some thoughts and a modest proposal.

1. Do you believe that God is sovereign? If so, He allowed the other candidate to win.

THREAD
2. Do you affirm that the gospel is beyond political parties? God’s call on you is unchanged; your task is to work to advance His Kingdom, regardless of who wins an election.
3. Will you love those who voted against your candidate? If you don’t act lovingly toward others, you will have a tough time advancing Jesus’ Kingdom.
4. Did you vote for your candidate because you think he affirmed issues that you believed to be scripturally important? Those issues are still important, so keep working for those things.
5. Are you struggling with ill will toward people on the other side? Why not see what things the other side is working on that are in line with the Kingdom—the other side is not devoid of any good.
6. Do you think only true believers voted for your candidate? If so, you have believed something that is not true. There are brothers and sisters on the other side. See how you can work with them to accomplish gospel things. You might have the chance to work with them...
... on things that you see as gospel issues. You may find some beautiful common ground.

God is still on His throne, His Bride is unstoppable, and He is still working all things for the good of His chosen ones and for His own glory.
Here is a modest proposal: live, express, and exude the grace, love, mercy, and truth of Jesus. Do all you can to glorify Jesus Christ. That cannot happen if you are not Christ-like toward people who think differently than you.
“Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.” - 1 Peter 2:17
