It's funny that so much of the debate around AEW and it's talent has been about how members of their roster wrestle when it's pretty clear now that it's a promo/character driven fed. Let's look at the roster.
Who are the three AEW wrestlers whose star has risen most since coming in? MJF, Orange Cassidy, and now maybe Eddie Kingston. All of those guys can have a good match, but that's not their strength. MJF and Eddie are two of the best promos in the company, OC has a hit character.
Which member of the Elite is considered to have done the best in AEW thus far? Cody, the one who has done the best promo work and most memorable angles so far. Which ones have been the most disappointing? The Bucks, the ones with the worst/most divisive promos and character work.
Hangman Page's in-ring has been consistently good throughout AEW's run. How did he go from a "This isn't working" first push to a "Could be the future of the fed" second one? It wasn't breakout matches, he found a character people latched onto.
