Governments can, at best offer suggestions on what to buy and what not to buy, what to reduce consumption of, etc and promote eco-consciousness from a distance. what gives them the right to ban fireworks, ban DIYAS that is the lifeline of potters and small merchants?

they want indian pottery which has been the cornerstone of our wares since the harappan times, to die? what’s better for the environment and economy than pottery? they want people to buy cheap plastic chinese lights that don’t work for more than two weeks then get thrown out?

there is no scientific data that backs the ban of fireworks either. pollution in delhi is NOT because of diwali. these fools just want to blame hinduism. every country has fireworks shows. US literally has giant fireworks shows every time there’s a baseball game or an NFL game.
