Seems to me the FEC should audit ANY vote count within a certain narrow range -- say 2-3 pts. -- and that that should be a standing rule regardless of the winner. We need to ensure the integrity of our elections and encourage trust and acceptance of them. The alternative is dire.
I don't understand why anyone would oppose this. Who voted should not be a secret. (Who you voted FOR absolutely should.)
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the conservatives grumbled a lot but ultimately forwent an audit so that they can use the lack of it later as de facto proof of voter fraud and so question Biden's legitimacy and weaken him politically. That alone is a reason to do it.
(To be fair, the democrats would do the same. They both foster division to further their own ends.)
