Let's talk about why CT Republicans were so sharply rebuked by voters this week. In my area, I think it can directly be tied to the two local RTCs, both with new leadership and adopting scorched earth Trumpian campaign styles. Also, they still think signs vote.
Voters were sick of it. Governor Lamont has done a good job with the pandemic. Our State's finances are good. Essential workers also happen to be a lot of union members, the convenient boogie man of the right.
So what was left-- tapping into anti regionalization, zoning and policing. Oookkkay.
Who did the CT Republicans bring to their party this year? Anti maskers. Qanon. Who wasn't at the party? Their formerly very popular, so called "moderate" Republicans (see: Klarides and Fasano) who presumably didn't want this L on their gubernatorial resume. How brave.
Am I thrilled about one party rule? Lol. We will see. Democrats have their own issues too. What knocked out your local Republicans?
