In the early hours of October 31 U.S. Navy SEALS rescued an American citizen, who was kidnapped in a raid in Nigeria. However something feels off about this one. The CIA provided intelligence about Walton's location . Now dont get me wrong. What worries me is not
the operation in itself, its the level of resources and firepower that was brought to bear for just one man so quickly. Forces that on paper are not deployed in the region. Officially the SEAL TEAM 6 are not in Africa. Marine Corps special operations units were also deployed.
I have been searching for days now but details about the exact composition of the raiding force, beyond the inclusion of SEAL Team Six, are limited. They said the raid was carried out with coordination from the Nigerian military. Again i have scrounged for info on this. Nada.
Why am i perturbed? Well take a look at the assets deployed for this one operation. C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft. Two CV-22B Osprey tilt-rotors and MC-130 special operations transports. The scariest are the AC-130 septre gunships
Tankers also supported this operation. Those who know the capability of the AC-130 know how jaw dropping this deployment is. These are assets that can take out an entire army division deployed to rescue one man.. But for FIVE good years Boko Haram have been running amok
..in that same country. Soon they were joined by ISIS who now have a West Africa affiliate and other splinter groups. Nigerians need to ask, if such assets are readily available on a whim. If the CIA can pinpoint the location of the kidnappers in Nigeria then how is it after
Five years and six military basis later they claim they cannot locate Boko Haram camps in the very country they operate multiple surveillance bases? They do not detect thousands of mercenaries fighters and tons of weapons that find their way from the Sahel down to
Mali, Chad, Niger and into northern Nigeria. They cannot detect insurgents who flee across the border after staging hit and run attacks on Nigerian territory. Its time we start asking serious questions over the sprawling and opaque force structure of the U.S in our backyard.
How did a group of U.S Navy Seals and a frightening array of weapons which Defense Department officials insisted were not in the country suddenly get sent to search a terrorist camp deep inside Nigerian territory?

I read a report from the ''Intercept'' that said U.S forces
could not go after Boko Haram insurgents because U.S forces were lightly armed....to quote him verbatim

We simply do not have the assets necessary for such complex operations. We are just there to train, advise and assist local troops.

Now i do not wish to sound melodramatic, but i do wish to impress upon you the magnitude of firepower used for this operation is insane. This is the first time in history that the worlds greatest superpower will be conducting tactical military operations in Nigeria.

Lets begin.
The Central Intelligence Agency provided intelligence about Walton's location. If the CIA could pinpoint the location of the kidnappers in Nigeria, then they jolly well know where Boko Haram leaders Top Commanders are, They know the location of their camps.
C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft
CV-22B Osprey tilt-rotors.

Anywhere you see the CV-22B Osprey i bet you the U.S Marine Corp are involved. This aircraft is exclusive to the U.S Marines.
AC-130 gunships.

What you are looking at is a plane that delivers heavy artillery from the sky. This heavily armed ground attack C-130 carries a wide array of ground attack weapons that are integrated with sophisticated sensors, navigation, and fire-control systems
Apache attack helicopters
MC-130 special operations Combat Tallon 2 aircraft.
A large contingent of aerial refueling tankers also supported this operation.
This token force alone will rip to shreds any national army in the region with relative ease. We're not counting the dozens of MQ-9 Reaper drones. The only way the CIA could have pinpointed where Mr Watson was held is through its fleet of drones. Which means they have been
carrying out surveillance flight over Nigeria for years. If the U.S and France wants Boko Haram out, they will do it within a week or less. But the need to justify their presence in the region means we might never be able to rid the region off terrorist groups.
Just look at the frightening array of forces nestled all around us. If this doesnt scare you then nothing will.
I am working to confirm additional details and we will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
