For people residing outside Nigeria, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a one-year program during which graduates are posted to work either for a government or a private establishment.

The program takes place after university graduation.

Here is our response

THREAD
Dear Toyin,

First of all, think of your post-NYSC plans.

Are you looking to further your studies?

Are you applying for a job or starting a business?
Whatever decision you make, take a portion of that money, and apply it to your personal development.

Remember, every 1% you invest in yourself yields over 100% returns.

You are your biggest asset.
Take another portion and invest it.

You can split that investment broadly into two halves:

Short-term

And long-term investments
Short-term investments would generate a periodic return for you, as you settle down.

Long-term investments may take a few years or even decades to yield a return.
These investment options depend on your risk appetite.

We have the low-risk, medium risk, and high-risk bucket.
The low-risk investment option is to protect your income.

The medium-risk investment option grows your income, there's a chance you might lose your capital, but when it's properly managed, you can avoid the risk.
While the high-risk investment option is quite volatile, when it works out, the returns are really high and when it crashes, you can lose big.

The secret is how you manage it, to ensure the risk is neither too high nor too low.
