1/4 There are a lot of questions around the upswell in votes this year in Wisconsin & Michigan; with accusations that it is abnormal.

First I compared 2020's votes/population to 2016's votes/population in 4 swing similar swing states.

WI & MI are certainly up a lot this year:
2/4 Then, I looked at the increase from the average of the previous 4 elections to the 2020 votes/population.

Again, MI and WI showed a much bigger jump than OH and IA:
3/4 I don't know if this type of jump is indicative of anything nefarious or just a result of a strong mail-in ballot ground game.

It does strike me as interesting, however, that the difference is so extreme; especially compared to OH.

Maybe brighter minds can make sense of it
4/4 Here is the data I used. I rounded to the nearest 100k for population.

Also, I realize taking the adult population of 18 or looking at voter registration for each year would have been more precise, but I just wanted to do a quick analysis to see the trends.
