Trump is not and never has been the root of fascism in America.

He is just the President to most recently embrace it openly.

Racism continues to be America's preferred brand of fascism.

And a Biden victory will not change that.

The police in Democratic cities will continue to oppress Black people with an iron fist.

American policies with regard to Natives will continue to be a sick joke.

The sale of the poor to corporation will continue

The news will continue to pretend whiteness is benign.

Do not promote the idea that the end of Trump is the end of fascism in America.

Trump was only possible because America was a hospitable environment

That this election is a nail biter is proof of this fact

The amount of damage done to American governance in service of Trump's fascism is second only to the amount of damage done to American governance by classic American Fascism (racism).

If America had not already been habituated to fascism in the form of racism for centuries, it would have been so horrified by Trump that he never would have gained traction.

But he did.

By leveraging pre-existing receptivity to fascist approaches.

If we actually manage to inaugurate Biden, we will have bought ourselves breathing room and a moment to rest, survive and regroup.

But little more than than that

Pandora's box is open.
